QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND
I have to start this post out with one word. Wow. Queenstown is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever made a trip to. Queenstown is a small city in the South Island of New Zealand with countless things to do, I spent several days in this beautiful town and it wasn’t nearly enough. We started out our trip with a gondola ride from the city up to the top of a mountain with a beautiful view along with a buffet lunch. The food was great and the view was even better!
After this we made plans to go hot tubbing in the mountains. There was a man named John who rents out his hot tub on the hillside for a few hours at a time. We initially tried to get into the Onsen Hot Pools you’d read about online when googling what to do in the city, but they were all booked out- which I’m not so mad about it considering John’s hot tub experience was an unforgettable one. We bought a bottle of wine and walked down the hill where he had a changing tent set up along with wine glasses and towels for use near the hot tub.
For our second day in NZ we decided to take a day trip to Milford Sound, which actually happens to be a fjord about 5.5 hours out of the city in Fjordland National Park. This bus tour took us through some of the most amazing scenery imaginable, making it one of my favorite parts of the trip! It was a long day but a day worth our while. Once arriving to the park we went on a boat tour through the scenic mountains where we saw dolphins, cascading cliffs and waterfalls. We also ended up meeting a group of Australians on the tour who we quickly became good friends with! Overall, this tour is a MUST for anyone who takes the trip to Queenstown.
On our final day we spent most of our time walking around Queenstown relaxing, shopping and checking out the best restaurant in town- Fergburger. If you ask any local where to eat, it’ll be the first suggestion out of their mouth. I can honestly say the restaurant lived up to the expectation!
