WAIHEKE ISLAND DAY TRIP - NEW ZEALAND

If you like wine as much as I do, I’d highly suggest a trip to Waiheke Island. With over 8 different wineries to choose from, this island is a short 40 minute ferry ride off the coast of Auckland, New Zealand and ultimately- the perfect day trip.

Aside from having no shortage of wineries, the island is also known for its beautiful beaches and rolling landscapes. During the summer you’ll be apt to see a wedding on the island just about any weekend.

We ended up making pit stops at 3 or 4 of the wineries throughout the day. There’s a hop on hop off bus you can get tickets for right at the ferry port which saves the hassle of constantly arranging transportation! If I had more time I would have easily spent another day here. There are a variety of hostels, hotels and Air BNB’s to choose from if you ever make it out to this dreamy island and want to stay a bit longer!
